The “Secret Garden” is a new purpose-built country wedding and conference
venue recently opened just outside the KZN Provincial Capital, Pietermaritzburg.
Country living a mere stones throw from the city centre, the venue is literally 10
minutes south of the CBD, just 5 minutes from the local airport but shielded from
the noise of urban life by the hills of Bisley. We are 10 minutes from the main N3
Highway and 45 minutes from Durban.
Set on 10 acres of lawn and indigenous garden, it’s a perfect setting for any
event for 200 people or less. We have ample, well lit, secure parking and are
served by taxi to and from all the major local hotels
The view from the verandah looks out across Rocky Valley Game Ranch, our
own private 1000 acre reserve, towards Mkambathini - KZN’s Table Mountain.
Guided game drives and walks on the ranch are by appointment and visitors can
expect to see zebra, wildebeest, impala, nyala, kudu, hartebeest, giraffe and the
highly endangered oribi antelope – as well as a huge variety of birdlife to keep
the Twitchers happy !
At present we are hosting weddings in our Victorian garden gazebo. We expect
our stone-built, 200 seat wedding chapel to be completed in early 2008.
