Daily hikes include a bit of history in the Bushman’s Shelter, or a cup of tea in the Waterfall cave. Horse rides are arranged daily, while the stocked Montusi dam offers satisfying trout fishing.

Montusi is the only Four Star Graded lodge in the Northern KwaZulu Natal Drakensberg Mountains (near Royal Natal Nature Park), whose fourteen exclusive suites all have magnificent views of the Drakensberg‚s Amphitheatre. Rates include dinner, bed and breakfast, hiking and trout fishing on the Montusi Estate.
The suites have a kingsize double bed, en-suite, a lounge, wet bar and Jetmaster hotrock fireplace. The restaurant offers a buffet breakfast, with the hot breakfast being served to order from the kitchen. The dinner menu has exciting dishes, which are both local and exotic ˆ homemade soup, entrée to make your mouth water and a choice of main course and a delicious dessert. There is np smoking in the suites or restaurant.

Many lodges do not accept children. At Montusi we compromise: as we encourage a meal which complements the romantic peace of the surroundings, we have early meal times allocated in the restaurant for children to have meals with their parents. Children are not permitted in the bar.

Montusi has a stunning swimming pool and there are guided walks and marked trails on the estate, as well as trout fishing, birding, 4x4 trails and horse riding. The new tennis court will be ready at the end of November and the Amphitheatre Golf Course is nearby. At All Out Adventures one can Bungee Bounce, Fly on the trapeze, do the Gorge Swing, Abseil, Zip line and play Paint ball.
